How 7A Elevates Female Leadership – Over 80% Women in the Management Team.

7A offers office, meeting, and conference spaces in central Stockholm with a focus on personal interaction. The company was founded in 2006 by Fredrik Hultman and Bo Fuglsang at Strandvägen 7A - the facility is still located at the same address today, hence the name 7A. With its four facilities, it is one of the major players in the coworking industry.

Since its inception, company culture has been a crucial component, where top-notch service combined with personal interaction has been essential for all employees. Susanne Lindqvist, current CEO, and Eva Bloch, HR Manager at 7A, consider this culture a central part of the company's success.

"7A has an amazing company culture that allows many people with incredible skills to dare to use them and develop - to take chances and embrace new opportunities. This means that 7A, in turn, has a wealth of expertise from colleagues who have chosen to stay with us and develop within their roles - or try new ones!"

Susanne continues to talk about 7A's company culture and how it has contributed to gender equality within the management team. Today, 7A stands out with over 80% women in the management team, a figure that contrasts strongly with the landscape in the rest of Sweden – but is not entirely unexpected within the industry.

"In a female-dominated industry, having a female-dominated management team probably doesn't raise eyebrows. However, when you look at industries with a predominantly female landscape, there are several that are not gender-balanced or almost entirely male-dominated when it comes to executive roles or management team level. As a company, we must continue to set goals and dare to evolve - nothing happens on its own."

For several years, Sweden has topped the lists in gender equality matters, but in the report "Recruitment Agencies, the Gatekeepers of the Business World" published by Allbright - a non-partisan and non-profit foundation - it is revealed that Sweden needs to strengthen its gender equality efforts. The main focus should be on higher-level roles within management teams and CEO positions.
